If you speak Chinese, or are learning, and you are interested in Corpus Linguistics. I was just given this great link to the Chinese National Corpus. Held in Beijing University, this link will take you out of my page. Right click and open in a new window to keep this page open: http://ccl.pku.edu.cn:8080/ccl_corpus/jsearch/index.jsp?dir=xiandai Another great resource which I frequently use is the below online dictionary, this link will take you out of my page. Right click and open in a new window to keep this page open: www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php However, I do think that generally the resources from Chinese to English are far far poorer than English to Chinese. I think this is due to the fact that up to recently not much translation has taken place from Chinese to English. The worst aspect for me when I translate is that something may be translated wrongly even in reliable sources like bilingual dictionaries. So every single term needs to be extensivly checked. Sinosplice really shows how much better it is when stuff is written by native English speakers. The section on phonetics is the clearest I have seen, there are interesting book reviews, and some funny stuff. It's not a good site for heavy academic research but it is fascinating and makes a good starting point. We need more sites like this:
